The Environmental Compliance division is responsible for implementing local environmental programs and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.

Calling all Carmel Beach Lovers! Help shape the future of Carmel’s Beach and Coastline. We want to hear from you. Please complete a 5-minute Coastal Hazards and Sea Level Rise Adaptation Community Survey. Paper copies can be located at City Hall, Public Works, the Post Office, and the Harrison Memorial Library. Please return completed surveys to City Hall or Public Works.

Climate Action & Adaptation Plan
In 2022, the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea adopted a Climate Adaptation Plan and a Climate Action Plan.
