Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for design, construction, operation and maintenance of improvements to public facilities, public rights-of-way, parks, urban forest, and Carmel Beach.
For repair and maintenance concerns, please contact the Public Works Department at (831) 620-2070 to report the issue.
Messages will be checked and responded to Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In the evenings, on weekends, or in the event of an emergency, please call 911.

Forest, Parks, and Beach
The Division of Forest and Beach is responsible for the maintenance of and improvements to the urban forest, all City parks, and the Carmel beach. The Division manages over 13,000 trees growing on public property and provides staff support to the Forest and Beach Commission.
Streets and Sidewalks
The Streets and Sidewalks Division of Public Works is responsible for all activities related to street, sidewalk and storm drain maintenance including street repair, street striping, paver repair, sign maintenance and street sweeping.
