The Police Department is responsible for law enforcement and crime prevention within the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea and strives to maintain a high quality of life for all by supporting the rights of citizens and visitors to live in peace and safety.
Fire
The Monterey Fire Department staffs the Carmel Fire Department to protect the lives and property of residents, businesses, and visitors for the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea by preventing and suppressing fires, responding to emergency medical calls and, educating the public on personal and community safety topics
