How to file an Appeal to the City Council
Decisions made by the Planning Commission, Forest and Beach Commission, or the Historic Resources Board may be appealed to the City Council under CMC 17.54.040.
How to Appeal:
- File a written Notice of Appeal Form and pay the required appeal filing fee with the City Clerk within 10 working days of the decision made by the Planning Commission, Historic Resources Board, or Forest and Beach Commission.
- City Clerk email: cityclerk@ci.carmel.ca.us.us.
- Appeals must be filed in person or sent via email by 5:00 PM on the day the appeal period ends.
- Appeal periods ending on a weekend or city holiday will be extended to the next business day.
- Appeals must include the required filing fee as established by City Council Resolution. The current adopted appeal filing fee (fee schedule) is posted here, https://ci.carmel.ca.us/budget.
- For appeals of telecommunications projects, follow the special deadlines listed in CMC 17.46.070(E).)
