The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea is now accepting applications for two unscheduled vacancies:

  • Forest & Beach Commission (1 position)
  • Planning Commission (1 position)

Forest & Beach Commission

  • Who can apply? Applicants may reside in the City or its Sphere of Influence.
  • Meetings: Second Thursday of the month, 2:30 PM

Planning Commission

  • Who can apply? Must be a resident of the City.
  • Meetings: Second Wednesday of the month, 4:00 PM

Deadline: Wednesday, January 10, 2025, by 5:00 PM. Applications can be emailed or dropped off to the City Clerk.

Selection Process:
Interviews with the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will take place mid-to-late January (date TBD). Appointment recommendations will be made at the February City Council meeting.
