The City is seeking applications for unscheduled vacancies on the following Boards and Commissions:

Community Activities Commission (1 seat) – Apply by June 30th!

Building Code Board of Appeals (1 seat) – Apply by July 10th!
Who may apply: Residents of Carmel-by-the-Sea or Sphere of Influence (Check this map to see if you live in the Sphere of Influence).
General Municipal Election – November 3, 2026

Saturday Hours at Park Branch Library – Starting July 11
Vote in our poll!
We are excited to announce that, starting July 11, 2026, the Park Branch Library (Mission St & 6th Ave) will be open for four hours on Saturday afternoons. (Only Park Branch will be open; Harrison Memorial Library will be open Monday-Friday, but not Saturdays.)
We are asking the community to help us determine the best schedule for Saturday hours. Which hours would you prefer? Vote in our poll!

Jury for the 55th Homecrafters' Marketplace
Are you interested in participating in the City of Carmel’s popular Homecrafters’ Marketplace?
Entry into Homecrafters’ is through a jury. This year’s jury takes place on Wednesday, August 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Carmel Woman’s Club. No appointment necessary, show up when it’s convenient for you.
The 55th Homecrafters’ Marketplace is Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the north lot of Sunset Center.

City’s Conglomerate Paving Project

Conglomerate Paving Project Update
The Conglomerate Paving Project, which includes street paving work, select sidewalk repairs, ADA ramps, and asphalt concrete (AC) berm repairs, began on November 12.
Completed AC Overlay Paving Work:
Ocean Avenue between Highway 1 and Carpenter Street
Ocean and San Antonio Avenues Intersection: 4 ADA Ramps are completed
10th Avenue between Mission Street and Junipero Street
