The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea is accepting applications to fill one (1) unscheduled vacancy on the Historic Resources Board.
Who may apply: Residents of Carmel-by-the-Sea or Monterey County are encouraged to apply.

Dates: January 10 – February 6, 2026
Overview
The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea has contracted Precision Concrete Cutting (PCC) to complete limited sidewalk maintenance throughout the City. This work is part of the CBTS FY25/26 Capital Improvement Plan and will address roughly 1,426 uneven sidewalk panels and trip hazards as part of an ongoing effort to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.

Conglomerate Paving Project Update
The Conglomerate Paving Project, which includes street paving work, select sidewalk repairs, ADA ramps, and asphalt concrete (AC) berm repairs, began on November 12.
Completed Paving Work:
Ocean Avenue between Highway 1 and Carpenter Street
10th Avenue between Mission Street and Junipero Street
6th Avenue between Guadalupe Street and Carpenter Street
