ABOUT THE COMMISSION: 

The Forest and Beach Commission comprises five members, responsible for advising and assisting the City Council on forestry and beach-related issues, policies, and projects. Their duties also involve developing a management plan for the urban forest, parks, and beach in alignment with the City’s General Plan.

WHO SHOULD APPLY:

Applicants must be residents of Carmel-by-the-Sea, or reside in the City’s Sphere of Influence. Ideal candidates should be interested in or familiar with the City’s parks and open spaces.

MEETINGS:

The Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chamber (Tour of Inspection usually occurs before, at 2:30 p.m.)

HOW TO APPLY:

Submit your application to the City Clerk’s office via email, in person at City Hall, or mail no later than 5:00 p.m. on December 6, 2023. Applications can be found on the City’s website HERE

The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will interview applicants on December 11, 2023.
