ABOUT THE COMMISSIONS:
The Forest and Beach Commission comprises five members, responsible for advising and assisting the City Council on forestry and beach-related issues, policies, and projects. Their duties also involve developing a management plan for the urban forest, parks, and beach in alignment with the City’s General Plan.
The Planning Commission comprises five members, responsible for advising and assisting the City Council on planning issues, policies, and projects. Their duties also involve developing and maintaining the City’s General Plan and conducting public hearings on design review and design study projects.
WHO SHOULD APPLY:
- Who can apply? Applicants may reside in the City or its Sphere of Influence.
- Meetings: Second Thursday of the month, 2:30 PM
- Who can apply? Must be a resident of the City.
- Meetings: Second Wednesday of the month, 4:00 PM
HOW TO APPLY:
Submit your application to the City Clerk’s office via email, in person at City Hall, or mail no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Applications can be found on the City’s website HERE.
Interviews with the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will take place mid-to-late January (date TBD). Appointment recommendations will be made at the February City Council meeting.
