We’ll ask election experts and civic historians where we stand one month after the recent recall election. What is the history of the recall process, and what might its future be? Why do some oppose the recall method? How do other states and countries “recall” their elected leaders?

In conversation with seasoned political strategist Dan Schnur, experts will unpack California’s use of recall elections, with an eye to the uncertain future of this electoral tool.

Panelists:
Carla Marinucci, Senior writer for POLITICO’s California Playbook
Seema Mehta, Political writer for The Los Angeles Times

Moderator:
Dan Schnur, Political Strategist, and Professor, USC Annenberg School of Communications and UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies
