Fireside Chat – The Cost of Silence in a World of Noise: Navigating the Complexities of Self-censorship
Harrison Memorial Library

Post

This year we will continue to see dogma and polarization. Can we engage others with civility and have dialogue with those who don’t already agree with us? Join Patrick Belanger, PhD, California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), in a Fireside Chat at the Library on stepping out of echo chambers to engage in public dialogue about matters of shared importance. Patrick Belanger is Professor of Communication Studies at CSUMB, where he teaches the interface of media, culture, and ethics. His research has been published in several journals, including: Journalism & Media, the Western Journal of Communication. A Fulbright program alum, Patrick received his PhD from the Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism at the University of Southern California.

Free in-person program at Harrison Memorial Library, Ocean Ave and Lincoln St, Carmel, Ca 93921. Register here.
