The November 8, 2022, General Election is here and there are a couple of things voters should know to get vote ready. Monterey County local voter information guides and ballots will be mailed out beginning October 7th. State voter information guides will also begin mailing directly from the state. All active voters will receive a ballot in the mail and in-person voting options will be available. For Carmel-by-the-Sea Residents: a 24-hour ballot drop box is located at the Sunset Center north parking lot,  San Carlos St at 8th Ave. The full news release from the Monterey County Elections Office is here. For more information call (831) 796-1499 or visit montereycountyelections.us.

Important Dates:  

Week of October 5  - Local Voter Information Guides begin mailing  

October 7   – Ballots begin mailing to all active voters  

October 7 – November 8 – The Ballot drop box at the Sunset Center is open 24-7 (ballots are collected every other day)

October 10  - In-person voting available at the Monterey County Elections Office, 1441 Schilling Place, Salinas  

October 24   – Deadline to register to vote  

October 25   – Conditional voter registration period begins  

October 29   – 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday Voting at the Monterey County Elections Office  

November 1   – Last day County will mail ballots out - Recommended last day for voters to return ballots via USPS - In-person voting available at the Elections Satellite Office, Embassy Suites, 1441 Canyon Del Rey Blvd, Seaside  

November 5-6 – 9 am to 5 pm, Weekend Voting at Monterey County Elections and Embassy Suites in Seaside  

November 8   – Last day to vote in-person or return your ballot. Voting ends at 8 pm.
