“Reimagining the Village: How do we Emerge?”
Virtual

Library Event

Panel discussion hosted by the Carmel Residents Association.

Panelists: Carmel Mayor Dave Potter, Councilperson and hotelier Carrie Theis, Restauranteur Anthony Carnazzo, Carmel Chamber CEO Jenny MacMurdo, Former 2016 Committee Chairman Neal Kruse, 2016 Committee member Greg Cellitti, Moderator: Carmel Resident Association Board Member Dale Byrne

It’s probably too early, with our town in its current situation, to predict what things will look like in 10 years. Clearly, this online program has taken on a different perspective from when we started planning it a month ago. In 1991, a group of 15 Carmelites were asked to conduct a study of what the village would look like in the town’s centennial year 25 years on. Panelists will present a brief history of the 2016 Committee, review the major components of their report and the survey taken when the presentation was made. We will then discuss the current situation and the opportunities it might present looking forward before turning to the hard work of getting our village reopened.

  • Neil Kruse and Greg Cellitti, participants in the 2016 Committee, will highlight that study and reflect on how that concept might be included in a rebuilding process
  • Mayor Potter will discuss the challenges the City faces, possible options and how you can help
  • Councilperson Theis will represent the challenges the hotels in town face
  • Anthony Carnazzo, the owner of Stationaery restaurant will present what his industry could look like

You can participate by submitting your questions and ideas. Send them to info@carmelresidents.org or fill out an anonymous form.

The program will be a Zoom webinar and will allow some level of interaction with the panelists. Check here prior to the panel to get the registration link. The meeting will be limited to 100 attendees but will be recorded for future viewing.
