Now that so much of our life has moved online, it’s a good time to learn some of the tools that are making it possible.

What is Zoom?

Zoom is a popular video conferencing tool, used for everything from business meetings to family get-togethers to book groups and happy hours.

How do I get started and join a meeting?

Do I need to pay to use it? Do I need an account?

If you are invited to join or watch a meeting, you do not need to create an account. It is completely free to join or watch a meeting.

If you want to host meetings, you can create a free account, though there are some restrictions on the size and length of meetings you can host. Paid accounts allow you to host larger and longer meetings.

What devices are support?

Mac, PC, iPhone, Android, iPad, Fire tablets. Can also dial in to meetings from a landline or cell phone.

If you’re using a desktop or laptop computer, you have the option to join a meeting in your web browser or to download the Zoom app.

To join from a cell phone or tablet, you need to download the app.
