NOTICE OF SIDEWALK REPAIR ACTIVITY

Dates: January 10 – February 6, 2026

Overview

The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea has contracted Precision Concrete Cutting (PCC) to complete limited sidewalk maintenance throughout the City. This work is part of the CBTS FY25/26 Capital Improvement Plan and will address roughly 1,426 uneven sidewalk panels and trip hazards as part of an ongoing effort to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility. 

What to Expect

• PCC will repair raised sidewalk panels up to 2 inches using a specialized horizontal slicing method.
• Most repairs take approximately 20–30 minutes to complete.
• Temporary cones and barricades will be placed around active work areas.
• There may be brief parking or sidewalk closures near repair locations.
