The Community Wildfire Protection Plan was developed by the Monterey Fire Department, in coordination with the Cities of Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Pacific Grove, with input and direction from stakeholders, agency representatives, and community members. This CWPP is intended to serve as a fire protection planning document that presents the community’s physical characteristics, wildfire hazard, assets at risk from wildfire, wildfire risk reduction approaches, vegetation/fuel management projects, and goals and action items intended to reduce wildfire risk in the Plan Area.
