City’s Conglomerate Paving Project
Scheduled to commence on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, and is tentatively scheduled for completion in April 2026, weather permitting.
The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea has contracted Coastal Paving and Excavating, Inc. to perform the construction of the Conglomerate Paving Project.
Project Scope Includes:
- Asphalt overlay
- Spot pavement repairs and micro-surfacing
- Pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction
- Sidewalk, AC berms, and ADA ramps improvement
Initial Work Areas:
The initial phase of construction will concentrate on
Ocean Avenue (Carpenter St. to Hwy.
1) and select residential streets, focusing on spot
repairs and asphalt concrete (AC) street overlay work on
10th Street (from Mission Street to Junipero
Avenue) and 6th Street (from Guadalupe Street to
Carpenter Street).
Traffic & Access Information:
- Heavy equipment will be in use — please avoid the area if possible.
- Temporary lane closures and detours will be in place to assist with traffic circulation.
- Local residents and businesses will be provided with access, but please expect delays and exercise caution when traveling through the work zones.
- Limited or No Street Parking in work zones.
