In 2022, the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea adopted a Climate Adaptation Plan and a Climate Action Plan.

There are a number of ways that the City is working on implementation strategies including;

• Education and enforcement of SB 1383 (recycling, composting, food rescue)
• Planning for new EV chargers at Vista Lobos Parking Lot
• Collaborating on Sea Level Rise and Coastal Hazards Adaptation Planning

• Update of the Forest Management Plan
