Climate Action & Adaptation Plan
In 2022, the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea adopted a Climate Adaptation Plan and a Climate Action Plan.
There are a number of ways that the City is working on implementation strategies including;
- Education and enforcement of SB 1383 (recycling, composting, food rescue)
- Planning for new EV chargers at Vista Lobos Parking Lot
- Collaborating on Sea Level Rise and Coastal Hazards

The Resilient Central Coast Campaign is supported by a cross-sector, six-county coalition, including dozens of cities, counties, regional agencies and nonprofits led by Ecology Action. our own campaign along with the County of Monterey.
