Mission Statement
The Carmel-by-the-Sea Police Department Animal Services is committed to the delivery of effective, courteous, and responsive animal care and control services to the residents of this community. It recognizes the unique geography, forested areas, ocean fronting, and wild land setting that is home to many domesticated, wildlife, and marine animals. The goal of the Animal Control officer is to provide services for the health and well being of all animals and people through enforcement of the City ordinances, and state laws governing the keeping of animals in the City. Equally important to the success of enforcement is public awareness through education of our animal laws to show citizens of our community that we care by solving animal related problems with long-term solutions.
